The art of furs creation
The creation of furs is a very ancient art that requires care, dedication and a lot of passion.
Before creating a model, it is necessary to study and design a pattern and then select the type of leather to use: it will be chosen for the type of fur and quality, considering that each batch of leather is not the same. The selected leather type can be colored and customized.
Each piece of leather will be sewn with the others: in order not to ruin the leather and fur, special treatments are carried out, up to the creation of the model.
Once the fur is ready, it is thoroughly analyzed and then cleaned with a specific treatment.

The story of a family project
American Fur was born in the 60s from the passion and professionalism of Mafalda family, furrier, and Aristide family, specialized in cleaning, treatment and summer storage of furs.
In 1975 Luciano, who was already an entrepreneur, married Elena, a multi-champion athlete of the Bulgarian national basketball team, and they both continued the path taken by their families.
Elena’s story is truly a novel that should be read and told to grandchildren.
Originally from Bulgaria, she was a basketball champion with the national team of her country, a fundamental experience that led her to continue living in the world of sport, her great passion, teaching basketball to hundreds of Reggio Emilia girls.
